Tony Ladesich fronts the grimy roots-rock band Pendergast, but he’s also a filmmaker. And his latest project is a documentary on the venerable Cowtown Ballroom, the place you probably didn’t know was above the old El Torreon at 31st Street and Gillham.

Ladesich is funding nearly all of the project, but he needs some help covering rights to music that you’ll hear in his film.

So the gents who own the RecordBar, 1020 Westport, are throwing a fundraiser for the project, and several of Ladesich’s colleagues in the local music scene will be there to help out, too: Howard Iceberg, the band Mad Libby, Kasey Rausch & Friends and Pendergast will be there. At midnight there will be an orgiastic “Cowtown Ballroom All-Star Jam,” hosted by Camp-Harlow. It all starts at 6 p.m. Visit ww.therecordbar.com for information on the show or www.cowbr.com for info on the project.
